Data Visualization (Digital Futures Graduate Program)

This elective introduces graduate students to the growing field of visualization in the age of computerization. Our knowledge society relies on communication that is is increasingly visual. Not only in art, design and media, our visual imagery is all-encompassing in engineering, science, education, medicine, humanities and social sciences due to ever-increasing computational techniques. By studying case studies from 2D to 4D, students will develop skills necessary for creating tools for visual cognition. We will consider both, data and information visualization as visualization technique from data sources and the development of visual tools to communicate complex networks and large data sets.
